F1 fans were delighted b꧑y o♕n stage appearances by a host of F1 stars including Damon Hill, Nigel Mansell, Niki Lauda, Jaguar's number 1 driver Eddie Irvine, F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, Team Bosses Eddie Jordan and Ron Dennis, and the legendary Voice of Formula One, Murray Walker.
The 2001 event raise🐷d over ?100,000 for the Brain and Spine Foundation and ensured, by popular demand, it would become a regular fixture on the F1 calendar.
The 2001 Gra𓆏nd Prix Party also saw the launch of the F1 Oscars, when the sport's top personalitie🀅s received awards in the shape of the F1 supremo, Bernie Ecclestone, for their outstanding contribution to Formula One.
In 2001, these eponymous new 'Bernie' awards went to Michael Schumacher (Driver of t🍨he Year), Jenson Button (Best Newcomer), Murray Walker (Lifetime Achievement) and FIA Medical Delegate, Professor Sid Watkins, for his Outstanding Contribution to the Safety of F1.
