BTCC Silverstone: Plato completes practice double at Silverstone

Power Maxed Racing's Jason Plato will go into British Touring Car Championship qualifying🍬 later this afternoon as the ♛driver to beat after completing the practice double at Silverstone.

Having already topped the times in the earlier morning session, Plato on🔯ce again set the pace during the second and final free practice after taking over 0🐷.3s off his FP1 best.

The Vauxhall Astraဣ driver's 57.413s lap was good enough to beat Honda's Dan Cammish, who once again found himself in second behind former ಌtwo-time champion Plato.

T𓄧he Vauxhall Astra driver's 57.413s lap was good enough to beat Honda's Dan Cammish, who once again found himself in second behind former two-time champion Plato.

Plato set his best lap early in practice before a brief sprinkle of rain threatened to derail any remainder of dry running. However, the rai💞n quickly abated and Cammish managed to draw within 0.130s of the leading Vauxhall Astra.

Title contender Cammish was joined by his fact෴ory Honda team mate Matt Neal in third position, while Tom Ingram and Chris Smiley completed the top-five order in fourth and fifth.

Team BMW's Tom Oliphant ended the practice running as the quickestꦕ BMW driver with the sixth fastest ti🔜me in FP2, marginally ahead of West Surrey Racing stablemate Andrew Jordan in seventh.

Jordan w𝔉as once again substantially quicker than his title rival Colin Turkington, who could only manage the 18♋th fastest time on maximum ballast.

Fresh off the back of his maiden BTCC race victory, Tra꧙de Price Cars Racing's Jake Hill entered the top-ten for the first time this weekend in eighth, ahead of Mac Tools Racing's Adam𒆙 Morgan in ninth.

Despite the Subaru Levorg usually tending to struggle around power circui𝄹ts like Silverstone, Ashley Sutton retained his spot in the top-ten from FP1 with the tenth fastest time in FP2.
