Hon෴da driver Dan Cammish keeps his British Touring Car Championship title hopes very much alive after winning the opening race of the Brands Hatch season finale, ahead of new points leader Ash Sutton in second.

Cammish started race one from fourth on the grid but took his fourth win of the year to move within 13-points of new champions𒐪hip leader Suttonꦚ.

As virtue of finishing in second and setting the fastest lap 💜of the race Laser Tools Racing's Sutton will head into race two with a two-point lead ahead of defending four-time champion Colin Turkington, who struggled in the wet conditions to finish race one in ninth.

Toyota G♐azoo Racing's Tom Ingram started the opening race from pole position and led much of the opening half, but lost the lead to the charging Honda Civic Type-R of Cammish on lap 13, following a brief safety car period.

Cammish looked by the far the most comfortable in the treacherous conditions and was able to keep a much tighter line around the Indy layo༒ut as he scythed his way past the Infiniti Q50 of Sutton and Toyota Corolla of Ingram.

The Team Dynamics driv🔯er soon established a gap between himself Ingram, who, in turn, fell 💛behind Sutton late in the race.

Rory Butcher finished some three-seconds behind Ingram in fourth and officially falls out 🐻of championship contention heading into the penultimate race of the season.

Ollie Jackson followed his ♎Motorbase Performance team mate home in fifth, ahead of MB Motorsport's Jake Hill and Honda's Matt Neal in sixth and se🥂venth.

BTC Racing's Josh Cook dealt title protagonist Turkington anothe🅘r blow by moving ahead of the Team BMW driver on lap 13 to finish in eighth.

Turkington eventually led his Team BMW team mate Tom Oliphant home in ninth and tenth, with both BMW 330i M Sport machines🌜 struggling to generate any pace in the wet conditions.
