Teenager Fermin Aldeguer will be out to prove that his disappointing 2024 Moto2 campaign was merely a blip as stepওs up to MotoGP in the ex-Marc Marquez seat at Gresini this year.
Aldeguer was signed by Ducati for 2025 in early 2024, following his late 2023 heroics.&n🎶bsp;
The young Spaniard had won the last four race💦s in a row on the Speed Up chassis to put even new💜 champion and future MotoGP star Pedro Acosta in the shade.
Without a Moto3 start, Aldeguer's route to gran💮d prix saw him dominate the 2020 European Superstock 600 class, then the 2021 CEV Moto2 championship 𝓡on a Boscoscuro.
Luca Boscoscuꦍro parachuted Aldeguer into his Speed Up Grand Prix team midway throu꧑gh the same 2021 season, where he took a best of seventh place at Aragon.
Aldeguer's first full world championship year, in 2022, saw him narrowly miss out on the podium before the breakthrough 2023 cam🎃paign.
With Acosta moving to MotoGP for 2024, Aldeguer was the runaway pre-seas🦩on favourite.
But the new Pirelli tyres shook up the order and, while the Boscoscuro was the early chassis to be on, gaining a clear advantage over Ka💟lex, Aldeguer was often beaten by team-mate Alonso Lopez⛎, plus the MT Helmets duo of eventual champion Ai Ogura and Sergio Garcia.
Aldeguer took three wins but also suffered a nightmare seven non-scores, including an 🀅injury absence from Sepang, leavi🥂ng him fifth in the final standings.
