Schmidt Peterson Motorsports has confirmed it will cut back to a one-car entry f🎃or the Bommarito 500 IndyCar race at Gateway Motorsports Park this w🀅eekend following Robert Wickens’ crash at Pocono.

Wickens sustained𓄧 a number of injuries following an accident on the opening lap of last Sunday’s ABC Supplyꩲ 500, breaking both his legs and his right arm, as well as sustaining an injury to his spinal cord.

Wickens underwꦦent surgery on Monday night for the spinal cord injury, with the latest update from INDYCAR confirming that he remains in a stable condition.

Wickens’ teammate, James 🌳Hinchcliffe, was also caught up in the accident at Pocono, leaving him with cuts and bruises, but has be𓃲en declared fit for Gateway.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports confirmed in a statement that Hinchcliꦓffe would be its only entry for the race weekend.

“James Hinchcliffe, driv♏er of the #5 Arrow Electronics Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda, who has been cleared to drive following an accident at Pocono Raceway on Sunday August 19, will compete in the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at Gateway Motorsports Park this weekend,” reads the state🌸ment.

“The #6 Lucas Oil SPM🍰 Honda will not be entered for the event.”
