Robert Wickens has been transferred to a hospital🌺 close to his Indianapolis h🔜ome as he continues his recovery from injuries he sustained in a huge IndyCar crash. 

The Schmidt Perterson Motorsports dr⛄iver was caught up in a multi-car incident on the opening lap of the Pocono race nearly two weeks ago that resulted in his car beingꦦ thrown into the catch fencing at high-speed. 

Wickens broke his right arm, both legs and suffered an injury to his spine in the violent crash. He was confirmed to be breathing unassisted and talking to his family las🦋t week and has since been moved to a hospital closer to his home, where the Canadian is set to undergo an operation on his "lower extremities". 

"Schmidt Peterson Motorsports driver Robert Wickens 𓆏was transferred to IU Health Methodist Hospital on Thur๊sday August 30 to continue treatment in his home of Indianapolis," a team statement from SPM read.

"He will soon undergo further surgery on👍 his lower extremities.

"Wi🦩ckens had been in the care of Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest since his August 19 incident during the IndyCar event at Pocono Raceway.

"The Wickens family and SPM organisation 🐬want to thank the surgeons, nursing team and the staff at the LVHN facility for their care of Robert the last 12 days."

Carlos Munoz has been confirmed as Wickens' replacement in the #6 SPM-Honda entry for the final two rounds of th🍸e 2018 season.
