Rapid early exit into the tyres for Ascari.
Ascari's Le Mans effort looks to have ended early with a dramatic accident for Werner Lupberger in the #27 car as the rear susℱpension failed going in to Indianapolis𝓡.
As the rear left wheel pushed up into the car signifying the suspension collapse, the car bounced through the gravel and shed much of its bo🌄dywork.
Despite the car skidding along through the grav𒁃el, it was still trav📖elling at high speed when it hit the tyre wall. Driver Lupberger is okay, but he remained in the car for quite a period, though he was moving about freely.

Whilst the car certainly ไlooks totalled, reports from the track, which initially confirmed the car was out of the race for good, now seem to suggest that the driver is setting about repairing the car to get it back to the pits.
