Team Chevy Trucks/Kawasaki rider Ricky Carmichael (pictured) continued his dominance of the 2001 AMA Supercross series with a huge win in the 250 cc class at the Daytona International Speedway.
Carmichael, who took his maiden 250cc Supercross win at the unique outdoor circuit just one year ago, used all his Motocross skills on the notoriously rough track to ღfinish ahead of Mike LaRocco.
'The Rock' claimed a hard fought second place on♐ his Amsoil/Dr. Martens Honda, but needeღd all his strength, perseverance and guts as he continues to recover from his foot injury.

Meanwhile, reigning Champion Jeremy McGrꦐath's season continued its downward spiral as the Yamaha rider took his worst finish of the yea🍎r in sixth. The once dominant McGrath now lies 26 points behind Carmichael in the championship standings after finishing behind Tim Ferry's four-stroke Yamaha.
Top Suzuki rideꦆr was once again K🌠evin Windham, albeit in eighth place, and directly behind McGraph.
In the 125cc class, Team Suzuki's Travis Pastrana took an equally i⛎mpressive victory to move into joint second overall with Mike ⛄Brown - they are now just one point short of series leader Nate Ramsey.
The final podium place went t💜o then hard charging veteran Tallon Vohland on a Kawasaki.
