Moto2: Tuuli to return after partial finger amputation

Niki Tuuli will return to action in this weekend's German Moto2 Grand Prix, despite having part of a finger amputated at the previous Ass🍸en round.

The Finnish rider’s hand became caught under his Kalex when he fell in qualifying, severely injuring a finger on his left hand, which later had to be partially amputated.

Tuuli - who joined the team at Le Mans - returned to Finland following his surgery and has been given the all-clear from his doctors to ride.

Nonetheless, Tuuli will still need t🌃o receive medical clearance from officials at the circuit on Thursday.

"I'm so happy that my finger has heeled so well, so quickly; I was really worried that I might not be able to ride in Germany," Tuuli said. "Of course, I still have to get the official go-ahead from the track doctors but it’s looking promising. I’m really looking forward to getting back on track ﷽on Friday.

"I’ve been to Sachsenring once before in 2012, so I don🐷’t remember so much about it. I just need to focus on my own riding this weekend and work on finding the right set-up on the bike so that I can be every lap faster; I want to be consistently improving.

"Being in the points is always my overall target but I guess this time I ma🦩y have to be a little bit more patient and see how well I can ride with my hand and then go from🎶 there. Nevertheless, I feel ready to get back out there and get to work."

Tuuli has a best finish ofꦉ 17th in his three races since replacing Zulfahmi Khairuddin.
