Raul Fernandez put in a faultless ride to claim victory at the Austrian Moto2, while Remy Gardner lost all opport✃unity of the podium due to being pushed wide at turn one.

With his MotoGP future sorted for 2022, Fernandez got back down to business after a tough Styrian GP by leading all but three laps durin⛦g Sunday’s rac🌄e.

Fernandez came under inte🐷nse pressure from Ai Ogura just past mid-race distance, however, the Red Bu𝔉ll KTM Ajo rider showed his class to eventually pull clear with two laps remaining.

"I am very happy, since in addition to the victory we have picked up some important points for the championship,” said F🦩ernandez.

"There are still many races to go and ꧟we have to keep p🎃ushing as we did so far. Last weekend was tough for us, but this time around the team gave me the best possible bike to be able to fight for this great result.

"I was feeling mentally strong today. I want to thank my entire🏅 team and my family. I dedicate this win to Hugo [Millan], and to his entire family and loved ones."

Team-mate and championship leader Gardner had similar pace throughout the race to Fernandez, but was unable to use it after being caught up ꦜin a turn oဣne incident.

Through no fault of his own the Australian was forced wideဣ which pus𒐪hed him down to 11th place.

Gardner put in a solid recovery ride to finish seventh and limit wha🀅t could have been a much bigger points swing to Fernandez.

"It was a tough day for us. We didn't get a good start, and when I reached the fi🍌rst corner I had to pick the bike up to avoid crashing and colliding with other riders," added Gardner.

"That made me l♊ose a lot of positions and, with the high temperatures that we had today, it was very difficult to regain them.

"I did everything I could, and we ha💟ve salvaged a few points, but now we are already thinkingꦦ about the next race."
