Adam Norrodin ruled out of Moto3 farewell

Adam Norrodin will miss what should have been his fiꦏnal Moto3 grand prixꦇ appearance, due to injury.

The Malaysian charged 🍃from the pit lane to a high of seventh before falling on the penultimate lap of his home event last weekend.

Norrodin, who dislocated his shoulder at Motegi, was in pain on his 🔜return to the pits and will now undergo surgery to cure the shoulder instability and discomfort at the Kuala Lum꧒pur Sports Medical Center.

In approximately six weꦐeks time, a second surgery will be needed to repair an injury sustained to his left knee in July.

Norrodin, a 🌸grand prix rider since 2016, has lost his Sepang seat for next year but will contin꧙ue to be backed by SIC for a move to the Spanish Moto2 Championship.

“It’s been a very difficult decision not to race in Va🍨lencia, but in the end I had to think about my future and the long term effect of delaying the operation," Norrodin said. "I’m really sad to be ending my Moto3 career this way; I’ve really enjoyed my time with the team and I wanted to see them one last time and to finish on a high.

"After my race in Malaysia, I was feeling so motivated to go to Valencia, but in﷽ the end I had to think about my future, to make sure that I am physically prepared for it.

"Now my focus is on next year and competing in Moto2, in the Spanish Championship, so I wa✤nt to be 100% fit and ready to start this new chapter in 2019.

"I wish all the best to my team for the Valencia race – I will be watching and supporting them from home. I want to say thank you to them all for their support over the years and I look forward to ꧒seeing them all again soon.”
