Aleix Espargaro: I want to stay in Aprilia, but...
Both Espargaro and Vinales are yet to sign for 2023. After his historic Termas de Rio Hondo victory, Espargaro, who joined the project in 2017, is keen to remain but said the initial talks ꧟had b🎶een ‘disappointing’.
“Sincerely my desire, my head wants to stay in Ap🍨rilia two more years,” Espargaro said in Texas. “I feel super strong, super fast. I want to stay.
“I did not have any offer yet. The first talks ♍they have with my manager were really disappoin✃ting. I feel very sad because we are super far (apart). But there is still time. I hope they value my work here during these years.
“My desire is to stay. But obviously, I’ve proved I’m fast and I have experience developing the bi𒁃keꦿs. So the paddock will move and we will have other opportunities.
“But once again, I want to stay in Aprilia.”
Marc Marquez: 'Weak points we need to improve'
Despite his COTA comeback, the eight-time world champion Marc 💯Marquez is far from comfortable on the all-new RCV and suspe🌌cts he will face a tougher challenge at smaller, twistier tracks.
“Now we need to understand our level at European tra🅘cks. I don’t think it's the level to fight for the victඣory in every race,” he admitted in Texas.
“Because COTA is a circuit that I know very well, I was able to see exactly the weak points of the bike. Already I said to Honda 'you need to work the♔re and there if you want to be competitive in the next෴ races'.
“It's true that Pol is riding well in some race tracks, Nakagami is ri🌞ding well in some race tracks, but there are some weak points that we need to improve if we want to be consistent in all the tracks.
“We have a bike that is really good on the brakes but th꧑en to turn the bike and to understand ℱthe front tyre is difficult. It's a completely opposite bike compared to last year. We are riding with a completely different set-up. But we need to understand the way.
“[In COTA] we did some improvements, I tried some things on the bike that I s⭕aid 'this is the way' and then when the other Honda riders tried it everybody li⭕ked it. So this is important that what I feel the others also like. We need to keep going.”
