Iannone saw teammate Rins confirm a new contract to stay at Suzuki until 2020 which has increased attention on the second spot at the factory team with t🎉he Italian’s current deal expiring at the end of this season.
While Ianno🔯ne remains in the frame – with Jorge Lorenzo also been linked to a move to the team – the Italian rider confiওrmed at the pre-event French MotoGP press conference his future would be confirmed soon.
“I think I’m confident ab🃏out this [MotoGP future],” Iannone said. “But in a few days everybody will know what will happen with my future.
“Alex is a really young and talented rider so I am happy for him. Last year unfortunately he had many injuries but this year he claimed the first podium and❀ showed really high potential. I’m really happy about Alex and about Suzuki.”
Focusing on the French round Iannone accepts the Bugatti circuit hasn’t been a place which holds fond memories, with his best result a fifth p♕lace in 2015, but having achieved consecutive podiums he’s eager to see where he stacks up this weekend.
“We arrive from a really good period for us,” he said. “This year we’ve started𝔍 in a good way, from Austin, I think practice by practice we’ve alﷺways improved the feeling with the bike and then the result.
“Last year this track was difficult ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚfor us but in any case I think this year we’ve ar🔴rived in a completely different way and a different situation. The bike has improved a lot during the winter and I think we have a good chance to stay close to the top riders and top manufacturers.”
