Mugello MotoGP: Pirro hospitalised after FP2 crash

Mꦫichele P🤡irro has been taken to hospital following his heavy fall during the second free practice session at Mugello ahead of the Italian MotoGP, suffering dislocated shoulders and concussion.

The factory Ducati rider, entered as a wildcard for the Italian ෴race, had finished FP1 second on the times but saw his afternoon session ended by a nasty cra🌄sh at the braking zone for Turn 1 at Mugello.

Michele Pirro ha💙s been taken to hospital following his heavy fall during the second free practice session at Mugello ahead of the Italian MotoGP, suffering dislocated shoulders﷽ and concussion.

The factory Dඣucati rider, entered as a wildcard for the Italian race, had finished FP1 second on the times but saw his afternoon session ended by a nasty crash at th꧅e braking zone for Turn 1 at Mugello.

Pirro apꦇpeared to have a high-speed wobble coming down the hill at the start of the braking zone before his brakes jolted the GP18 which sent the Italian rider over the handlebars and into the air.

The session was immediately red flagged and Pirro is reported to have suffered concussion in the fall while also sustaining a&nbꦅsp;dislocated right shoulder. The Italian was treated at the trackside by medics – before being transported to the circuit❀ medical centre by ambulance.

Pirro was then taken to Florence hospital by air amꦯbulance with the MotoGP medical director confirming he has suffered trauma to his chest, abdo🏅men and spine in the crash.

Ducati has since confirmed: "After first checks at the Medical Center of Mugello, Pirro was diagnosed with concussion and dislocated right shoulder, which was put bꦍack into place. The Full Body Scan done at Careggi Hospital of Florence was positive and there are 💖no further complications.

"As always in these cases, Pirro w♓ill remain in hospital overnight under observation, a🐻t least until tomorrow morning."

Pirro, a former World Supersport and Moto2 race winner, has been a Ducati test and reserve rider sinc🔯e 2013 while he has also made stand-in appearances for the Italian manufacturer in the World Superbike championship.
