Jordi Torres gets Avintia MotoGP ride at Aragon
Jordi T♚orres will make his MotoGP debut with the Reale ಞAvintia Team at next weekend's Aragon round.
The Spaniard, a race winner in Moto2 (2013) and Worl🏅dSBK (2015), has been called up as the latest replacement for the injured Tito Rabat.
Rabat, who is recovering from leg fractures at Silverstone, was replaced by Frenchman Christophe Ponsson for the recent M🍰isano round. Ponsson, who had never raced in any grand prix class before, qualified last and finished a lap down.

As with Ponsson, Torres will ride the team's GP16 Ducati with Xavier Simeon keepi🍷ng Rabat's GP17.
“First of all I want thank the team for this opportunity," said Torres, who currently competes with MV Agusta in WorldSBK. "Right now I am excited but also terrif🅺ied, but it is always a challenge to be able to try a MotoGP bike for the first time. It will be a unique experience that one day I will be able to tell my grandchildren.
"Now seriously, I really want to try the bike and see how I evolve. I know that the championship has a very high level and in a race weekend it is very difficult to assimilate all the things you need to be fast, but I will try to learn as much as possible and take advan🐷tage of my experience.
"I think it’s something positive, I know the team very well and I will try to put everything, and we will see what comes out during the weekend. It’s more difficult than the people think, but I’m goin🅘g with a positive attitude and looking forward to get the best out of this opportunity. I also want to thank my manager for his work and MV Agusta for giving me permission to be in Aragon.
"At the moment it is one race, but it could be two. Above all I want to wish Tito a speedy recovery becauseܫ he does not deserve that bad accident, but I know he will come back quickly, because he is a fighter."
Torres is currently tenth in the World Superbike standings for MV Agusta, having 🐷previously raced Aprilia and BMW machinery since le💖aving Moto2 for WorldSBK in 2015. Torres, who returned to action this weekend at the Portimao round, ended Friday practice third quickest on the combined times.
