Joan Mir heads into the first of four Spanish MotoGP rounds on the 2021 calendar♐ aiming for his second podium of the season.

Last year’s World Champion managed to turn a third row starting position i﷽nto a third🌞 place finish ten days ago, a story we saw unfold on many occasions in 2020.

"I was really pleased to be on the podium in Portugal, and I✅ want to match this result and better it. M🐎y goal is to be in the top three every race if possible!," added Mir.

During his thr♐ee MotoGP seasons to date, Mir is yet to finish on the podium at Jerez with a fifth place result the best he’s managed so far, which came at last year’s Andalusia𒉰n Grand Prix.

Ho🌱wever, Mir believes the GSR-RR has t💦he potential to be ‘strong’, even though the competition this year is ‘higher than normal’.

"Here at Jerez I think our bike can be strong, and it’s a circuit I like a lot, but I’m also expecting the competition level to be really high - even more than normal - because all the riders know this circui🍰t very well and in general the le♎vel is extremely high this year.

"But as usual I will aim to put in the best performance possible and bring Suzuki a nice result 🍷aꦆnd a bunch of points."

The Portuguese Grand Prix was the first race this year where Suzuki contended for the win before Alex Rins crashed out, which will be a positive ꧋sign heading into a section of the campaign where Suzuki were strong just a few monꦍths ago.
