British MotoGP: Marquez: Last race we were able to fight, but many can be strong

Marc Marquez expects ‘many’ riders to be challenging at Silverstone, while Pol Espargaro's sole focus is to ‘fix the problems’ he encountered during the Austrian MotoGP weekend.

Although a late crash squandered any potential podium or even MotoGP victory possibility in Austria, a returꦯn to top form for Marc Marquez was a significant takeaway.

The Repsol Honda rider battled race leaders Francesco Bagnaia, Fabio Quartararo and Jorge Martin all race, 🌳and looked like the favourite for victoryꦉ before rain fell.

While Marquไez is yet to claim a win in Austria since it’s return to the calendar in 2016, it’s a circuit he’s been extremely strong at (multiple second places), whereas Silverstone could present tougher challenges this weekend.

Traditionally not a strong circuit for Honda; Suzuki, Yamaha and Ducati should𝓀 all go better - something Mar𓆉quez is aware of as ‘different’ Silverstone usually means ‘many can be strong’.

Marquez added: "It will be great to see the British fans again after⭕ a year away. Racing in Austria with fans in the stands was enjoyable, so I am looking forward to doing it again in England!

"Our position between the races has not changed, this wee𓆉kend is again all about working to improve and seeing what’s possible on S♍unday.

"Last race we had the speed and were abl♕e to fight, but Silverstone is a very different circuit, and many can be strong there."

The Span💞iard finished outside the points after suffering from a lack of grip, riding style and rear spinning - problems he’s fixed on solving at Si♔lverstone.

"Let’s🎐 see what this weekend in Silverstone can bring us. It’s a long circuit, which is quite different to where we just were,"&ღnbsp;added Espargaro.

"First, we need to understand how the bike is working tౠhere and then make 🔯our plan for the weekend but the goal is to improve and try to fix the problems we had in Austria.

"I enjoyed racing in front of fans again last time out, so it𝐆’s good news we will do it again this weeken𝔍d."
