The MotoGP World﷽ Championship returns to the historic Silverstone circuit for the first t🍎ime since 2019 this weekend, as the British Grand Prix hosts round 12 of the season.

This year may have begun without a British rider on the pre💟mie🦂r-class grid but there will be no less than two home stars for the fans to support this weekend.

The fallout from Maverick Vinales' Yamaha exit has seen test rid✅er Cal Crutchlow, previously replacing Franco Morbidelli at Petronas Yamaha, parachuted in to th꧋e factory team alongside title leader Fabio Quartararo.

Doubling the British delight is the arrival of Jake Dixon, who has been promoted by Petronas from Moto2 to take over as Morbidelli's replacement on th🍸e 2019-spec M1 this weekend.

At the head of the points table, Quarta𝄹raro will arriv🍎e with a 47-point advantage over new closest challengers Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) and Joan Mir (Suzuki) with Johann Zarco (Ducati) slipping to fourth after his Austrian error.

But it is the riders currently🧸 ranked down in 11th and 13th that stole the show on MotoGP's last Silverstone visit, when Alex Rins (Suzuki) snatched a last corner victory o🌱ver Marc Marquez (Honda).

Marquez - t𝔍he Silverstone race and pole position record holder, but still recovering from last year's arm and shoulder injuries - has at least stood on the top step once this season🉐, but Rins is yet to claim a podium.

Also overdue a 2021 victory is Suzuki team-mate and reigning world champion Miꦜr, while the likes of Bagnaia and Zarco are no doubt itching to replace rookie Jorge Martin as MotoGP's newest race winner.

Meanꦫwhile, having walked on water with slick tyres for a home KTM triumph in Austria, Brad Binder will be seeking a more conventional route to glory under what are currently forecast to be sunny skies at Silverston🌳e.
