The return of the Indonesian MotoGP, pencilled-in for the early stages of the 2022 season atꦿ the new Mandalika circuit, could also mark the first non-European event for the MotoE꧋ class.

The electric bike series, which made its debut in 2019, currently🍎 supports the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 world championships at around half of the European rounds, but is yet to venture overseas.

"We've had discussions with Dorna about MotoE🥂," revealed Ricky Baheramsjah, CEO of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association. "It's a fantastic series and could pot🍷entially also pave the way for the future of motorsport.

"MotoE is not yet in South East Asia but we have an open dialogue with Dorna. It's certainly anꦿ eventౠ that would be very interesting for us to bring."

Currently under construction, Mandalika is due to host its first major event in the form of a🌼 World Superbike round in mid-November. MotoGP is then due to make its debut with an official pre-season test on February 11-13, ahead of the March race weekend.

Much to the disappointment of many Indonesian fans, the postponement of the inaugural Mandalika MotoGP event until 2022&nb𒁃sp;also means that, barring a 'miracle', the soon-to-retire Valentino Rossi won't be on the grid.

However, Baheramsjah hopes that the nine-time world champion 🌌might come and try the track.

“Firstly, I wish Valentino Rossi all ꦆthe best in his retirement. The whole country is extremely sad he announces his retirement just before the event in Mandalika," Baheramsjah said.

"But at the end ofꦉ the day, he’s a legend. He's served Dorna and MotoGP so well, he 🍸is huge ambassador.

"Of course, we would love to have ♎him in the circuit, even if he could just come and test and give us his opinion. We would welcome him with an open arms.

“Who knows, miracles can happens, maybe he come🍷s out of retirement just for Mandalik🧸a!

"We wish him all the best. But again, our door will always be open for him if he would li🦂𝓰ke to just come and test some time."
