New Honda WorldSBK rider Iker Lecuona does not expect a call-up by Repsol Honda to replace Marc Marquez at next month’s official Sepang MotꦑoGP test should the eight-time world champion be ruled ou⛎t.

Marquez, who is still recovering from diplopia (double-vision), returned to motorcycle training for the first time in three months on Thursday, before being present and speaking to the me♛dia during toda▨y’s 2022 Honda Motorsport media event. 

However, this does not mean Marquez has been cleared for next month’s first official pre-season MotoGP test. Marquez’ next aim is to ride a 1000cc Superbike ꦓor RC213V-S road bike at a grand prix track.

Should ♓Marqu🅷ez pass that test without any hiccups, then an official return to MotoGP action can take place in Sepang.

Although with nothing yet confirmed, new Honda WorldSBK rider Iker Lecuona has been mentioned as a possible stand-i𝓰n for his fellow Spaniard.

But when speakꦑing to the world media during Team HRC’s official rider introduction day, L🧜ecuona said he knew ‘nothing’ and therefore doesn’t expect to be called upon. 

"I cannot say anything. I read a lot of news in the media but for my side, if I’m honest, my manager never told me anything about this or about the (riding) MotoGP bike," added Lecuona.📖 "For Marquez I think he will do the first race in Qatar so I can’t say nothing because I know nothing." 

Lecuona has not had an injury-free off-season either following a crash in hi🌸s o♓ne and only WorldSBK test last month.

The Honda rider suffered a fracture to his little finger (left hand) which resulted in him missing half of the second and final day in Jerez, while ܫalso leading him to be without any motorcycle action since that poꦐint. 

However, Lecuona has been making good progress in recent weeks and is now expec🍒ted to take part in a test next weekend. 

Speaking about his own injury and where h🍎e stands, Lecuona said: "Regarding my hand I feel good. This morning I had a meeting with the doc🌞tor and he gave me very good news. 

"He told me that in six or seven days we have; maybe not the last check but I can ride in one week basic💫ally, I can ride the bike next weekend. It’s not the best timing to🦂 have an injury, but I’m starting to work now. 

"I have alre🐎ady been on the bicycle for one week in my home or to go to the gym. Now I’ll try to be ready for the first test but I’m very happy because honestly it looks very good."
