Factory test rider Sylvain Guintoli gave the trio a briefing prior to the start of testing - Elias, a formꦆer Moto2 champion and MotoGP race winner, being the only one with any previous MotoGP experience and real prior experience of the Malaysian track.

All three shared the𒉰 same bike, which had to be fitted with 'off-the-shelf' Michelin slicks due𒁃 to the limited Test Tyre allocation for race rubber.

Waters was first out (while the track still contained some damp patches), alternating with Dunlop. Eliꦦas, who spent much of the day waiting anxiously for his leathers to arriv🍰e, then got his chance in the closing hours…
