ART's Hubert extends GP3 points lead with Hungary pole
2018 GP3 championship leader Anthoine Hubert extended his advantage at the top of the drivers’🔴 standings by claiming his second pole of the season at the Hungaroring.
The Frenchman turned in a 1m31.409s to pip ART Grand Prix teammate Nikita Mazepin to his s💦econd successive pole at the Hungarian Grand Prix venue, stretching his championship lead over fellow stablemate Callum Ilott to 10 points in the process.

The Frenchman turned in a 1m31.409sꦫ to pip ART Grand Prix teammate Nikita Mazepin to his second successive pole at the Hungarian Grand Prix venue, stretching his championship lead over fellow stablemate Callum Ilott to 10 points in the process.
Mazepin led the timesheets for much of the session, but ended up juꩲst 0.075s away from taking his first-ever single-seater pole. Barcelona polesitter Leonardo Pulcini claimed third on the grid, one tenth clear of Jake Hughes.
The Force India Formula 1 development driver also survived contact with Niko Kari in a bizarre incident that left the MP Motorsport driver bottom of the timings out of the session with 👍rear suspension damage, while also bringing out🎃 a brief red flag period.
Ilott was the s🃏lowest of the ART runners in fifth place as hওe ended up 0.288s adrift of his teammate’s session-leading time, but enjoyed a similar margin over Trident’s Ryan Tveter.
David Beckmann, who switched from Jenzer to 🙈Trident to fill in for F2-bound Alessio Lorandi, was seventh-quicke🃏st, ahead of Dorian Boccolacci, Joey Mawson and Juan Manuel Correa, who rounded out the top 10.
