TT2012: Tuesday practice halted following Sidecar crash

The third practice session of this year's Isle of Man TT races on Tuesday was cut sh♕ort due to a red-flag incident at Sarah's Cottage involving husband and wife team Robin and Annette Daykin.

Fortunately Mr Daykin, who is 73, escaped unhurt, while his 61-ye༒ar-old⛄ wife sustained a broken ankle in the crash.

The session was halted, as the area where the accident happenedꦬ at Lambfell is inaccessible by helicopter and an ambulance was dispatched to the scene via 😼the course.

Only one lap of Sidecar pracꦯtice was completed as a result, with Tim Reeves and Dan Sayle credited with the fastest speed at 112.80mph.

Meanw🉐hile, further updates were provided following Monday's incidents in the Sidecar class.

Driver Glyn Jones, who crashed at Keppel Gate, suffered neck injuries and was due♉ to be kept in Noble's Hospital for further ex♍amination.

His p🦂assenger, Richard Murphy, sustained knee and so🍬ft tissue injuries but was discharged from hospital on Tuesday morning.

Former World Sidecar champ🍸ions Ben and Tom Birchall were also involved in a crash at Br🧸andywell on Monday.

Ben was 𝓀released from hos𝕴pital on Tuesday after injuring his elbow, with Tom also discharged.

The pair are planning in competing in Wednes♊day♔ evening's practice session.

All four had been airlifted to hospital following th𓆏e incidents on Monday.
