Jose Maria Lopez fastest for Toyota in Silverstone WEC FP2

Jose Maria Lopez led Toyota⛎'s charge in the second FIA World Endurance 🦂Championship practice session at Silverstone on Friday, heading up another one-two finish for the Japanese manufacturer.

Following co-driver Mike Conway's lea♚d from FP1, Lopez ﷺset the fastest time of the session behind the wheel of the #7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid, recording a lap of 1m38.536s to finish more than 1.3 seconds clear of Kazuki Nakajima in the sister #8 Toyota.

Following co-driver Mike Conway's lead from FP𝐆1, Lopez set the fastest time of the session behind the wheel of the #7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid, recording a lap of 1m38.536s to finish more than 1.3 seconds clear of Kazuki Nakajima in the sister #8 Toyota.

Formula 1 sꩲtar Fernando Alonso was the slowest of the three drivers in the #8 Toyota in FP2, recording the seventh-best time of the session overall, 2.1 seconds down on Lopez's benchmark.

Egor 🔜Orudzhev lifted SMP Racing to third overall in the #17 BR Engineering BR1, with Rebellion Racing following in fourth place with the #3 Rebellion R13 Gibson. The sister #1 Rebellion failed to get out on-track as a result of crash damage from FP1.

The LMP2 class saw silver-rated driver Gabriel Aubry set the pace for Jackie Chan DC Racing in the #38 Oreca 07 Gibson, finishing four-tenths of a second clear of ಌNicolas Lapierre in the #36 Signatech Alpine 𓆉Matmut entry. Mathieu Vaxiviere took third in class for TDS Racing in the #28 Oreca entry.

Ford continu🔯ed to lead the way in GTE-Pro through Stefan Mücke in the #66 Ford GT after the German driver posted a best lap time of 1m56.852s to edge out Harry Tincknell by 0.046 seconds in the sister #67 Ford. Aston Martin took third in class following its Balance of Performance break for Silverstone as Alex Lynn finished less than two-tenths of a second off 🅘the pace.

Matteo Cairoli followed his charge to the top of the GTE-Am timesheets in FP1 with a repeat performance in second practice, leading the way in the #88 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR. Pedro Lamy took second for Aston Martin in the #98 Vantage, while Matt Campbell rounded out the top three in the second Dempsey-entered Porschꦛe.
