Fernando Alonso confirmed for Rolex 24 with Wayne Taylor Racing

Wayne Taylor Racing has confirmed two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso will join its line-up for the Rolex 24 at Daytona 🎐next Januar♏y.

Alonso made his Rolex 2ꦯ4 debut earlier this year with United𓆏 Autosports - the team co-owned by his McLaren boss, Zak Brown - as preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, which he won with Toyota.

Wayne Taylor Racin♌g has confirmed two-time Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso wi❀ll join its line-up for the Rolex 24 at Daytona next January.

Alonso made his Rolex 24 debut earlier this year with United Autosports - the team co-owned by his McLaren boss, Zak Brown - as preparation for thওe 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, which he won with Toyota.

Having made his final F1 start in Abu Dhabi last weekend, Alonso was understood to be set to join the♕ Wayne Taylor Racing line-up, with an official announcement arriving on Tuesday.

Alonso will race wꦰith Toyota LMP1 teammate Kamui Kobayashi, Jordan Taylor and Renger van der Zande, sharing duties behind the wheel of the #10 Konica Minolta Ca☂dillac DPi-V.R. for the race at Daytona International Speedway.

"I a🌟m very happy ꦚabout joining the Konica Minolta Cadillac team and Wayne Taylor Racing to race together at the Rolex 24 At Daytona,” said Alonso.

“This is undoubtedly one of the greatest races in American and world motorsport. Returning to the United States ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚis always special. The atm♏osphere created by the fans is unique throughout an incredible weekend. I really hope to fight for the win, as well as having fun and putting a smile on the fans’ faces.

"I made my debut last yea🌜r both in endurance races and with th🐼ese sportscar prototypes, as well as on this track. I was left wanting much more after a brake issue ended our hopes of stepping on the podium.

"After an intense year in which I’ve competed in both Formula O♔ne and the WEC, I’m really looking forward to 2019 and attempt♑ing to conquer one of the most important races in the world.
