Dexion Racing's Tony Evangelou has his sights set on a top ten finis♚h in the fifth ▨and penultimate round of the Konica Minolta V8 Supercar Series at Queensland Raceway this weekend.

Evangelou finished tenth in the final race of a fraught round at Eastern Creek last month, and with this in mind, t♛he Melbourne-based driver wants to continue hi🍸s team's strong push towards the front of the competitive V8 field.

"The top ten is th💝e goal we set at the start of the year," Evangelou confirmed. "We'd be happy with that. I'd like to think we could be in the top 10 this weekend.

"Basically, it's just race finishes and wee🌠kend fin꧂ishes that we are after. We missed the first round so our championship position is really no concern to us."

Evangelou, 38, has only ever competed in one motor race around the 3.12km Ipswich circuit in a Saloon Car back in 2001 (wher🌺e he promptly broke the🍌 lap record). He claims the easy nature of the flat track won't pose too much of a hassle.

"I don't think it's a hard circuit from a driver's point of view,' he said.🐟 "But it's a litt♐le more technical in terms of car set-up. It's pretty rough and bumpy."

A.N.T Racing recently completed a moderately successful test day at Winton Raceway in their ex-Anthony Tratt Ford Falcon AU. Despite the typical wet and cold we🐼ather, Evangelou said t🥀hat critical gains were made.

"We've done some pretty big chang🍌es with roll centres at the front of the car. We didn't quite get the result we wanted weather-wise at our test, but we still believe that we are going iꦬn the right direction.

"We've mapped the engine out a bit better now so ཧhopefully we ca𝐆n get that half a second gain that we are after."

For the second time this year, the Konica Minolta Series supports the 'main' V8 Supercar C✱hampionship Series. It is expected that more than 60,000 patrons will pass through Queensland Raceway's gates over the three days.

The KMV8s will compete in practice and qualifying on Friday, before two 20 minute races on Saturday and another 35 minute event on Sunday in front of the hug𒅌e Supercar crowd.

But before A.N.T Racing hit Qꦰueensland Raceway, ♋some of the team will be hitting a golf ball around a local course with a group of Dexion franchise owners on Thursday.

"We can drive a 💟race car at close to 300km/h, but we'll have to see if we can hit a little white ball around the par💦k," Evangelou joked. "I feel a lot more comfortable in a race car. I hear a few of the franchise owners play off a pretty good handicap. My biggest handicap will be the club!"
