Carlos Checa is refusing to let his disastrous double retirement at Miller Motorsports Park play on his mind as he targets more victories durꦚing the second-half of the W𒉰orld Superbike Championship.

Checa was on course for victory in both United States races, but✨ was twice forced into retirement by technical problems whilst comfortably leading.

A bittไer pill to swallow for Checa and the privateer Althea Ducati team at the time, the Spaniard insists there are plenty of positives to take into the remainder of the season, starting with this weekend's event at Misano.

"Miller was a positive experience even if though it was statistically disastrous," he said. "Now I will strive for individual race wins. We've been working very well as🐻 a team and we're ready to make the most of every advantageous situation.

"In Miller we were doing well and something happened that had never happened before and that we hope won't occur again. In this second part of the season my job wilꦦl be to be prepared to gra🐼b hold of any occasion that presents itself.

"I don't know if I'll go on the attack on Sunday. We'll have to see what the weather is like and more importantly where we are on the grid and where the others will be. The best strategy would be to start aggressively and get away but I don't know if tဣhat will be possible."

Checa is among several riders to have participated in testing at ꦦMisano during the four-week break, wꦅhich he hopes will enable to get up to speed quickly.

"The tests went very well. This is a track that traditionally favours the Ducati and we fo🐻und a good rhythm and recorded some good times. At this point we just need to find the right set-up with the race tyre, also🐬 in light of the temperatures that we'll be facing."

Checa has been a race winner 💖this season - at the Phillip Islan༺d opener - and is currently classified fourth in the overall standings.
