2020🏅 WorldSBK Teruel Aragon - Superpole Quღalifying Results

Jonathan Rea lowered hi🌞s own lap record around the Motorland Aragon circuit en route to a third consecutive WorldSBK Superpole to pile more pressure on his title rivals in Spain.

The Ulsterman set a new benchmark with pole position at Aragon last weeken🅺d but went even quicker this morning with a 1m 48.76🌌7s lap on the Kawasaki ZX-10RR proving comfortably faster than his competitors.

Fastest through all three practice sessions, though Go Eleven Ducati rider Michael Ruben Rinaldi couldn’t quite match that in the alꦛl-important Superpole session, second position still marks his best qualifying performance in WorldSBK and sets him up nicely for a podium tilt this afternoon.

Coming into the weekend 10 points shy of Rea in the 2020 W🥃orldSBK championship battle, Scott Redding nonethele😼ss is well placed on the front row in third place.

After crashing out on his quick qualifying lap a week ago, one lap specialist Tom Sykes came good this tiꦬme to place the BMW in fourth position, ahead of Alvaro Bautista and Leon Haslam, who delivered Honda’s best collective qualifying of the year in fifth and sixth respectively.

Another troubling session for the Yamaha contingent, Torpak Razgatlioglu - who was well outside the top ten in FP2 and FP3 - at least made gains to get himself up to seventh positioꦓn, but Chaz Davies will be disappointed again to have left himself with work to do from eighth on the grid.

Battling a stomach virus this weekend, Alex Lowes limited his running but was able to get into ninth on the grid on the second 💙Kawasaki, ahead of Loris Baz, who could only manage tenth this time after starting second a weekend earlier.

Federico Caricasulo notched up his best start of the year in 11th, ahead of Michael van der Mark, who fluffed his best lap and then got into an argument with Sylvain Barrier on the warm down lap.
