Redding got the perfect launch as he led into turn one, however, an even faster starting 🥃Andrea Locatelli came from fourth to challenge the Ducati rider.
Locatelli momentarily took the lead at turn five, but Redding and Toprak Razgatlioglu got through on the Itꦑalian after he ran wide.
Rea got through one corner later on Locatelli, before the Pata Yamaha man was relegated to sixth after Alex Low🎀es pushed him off track at turn nine.
Locatelli regꦯrouped to get back into fourth, while Rea moved into seconဣd behind Razgatlioglu.
The front three remained the sam🥃e as the race went on, but on laps 12 and 13 Razgatliog𝓡lu upped the pace and began to pull clear.
With just five laps to go, Rea had another close moment with👍 the front end of his Kawasaki which allowed Redding to get close.
Redding trie🔯d to get ahead going into turn one on the following lap, howev🤪er, Rea made a nice switch-back to stay in front. Rea’s defence only lasted one more lap though, as Redding gained second place at turn 13.
Razgatlioglu’s lead of just over one second was too much for Redding to overcome as they finished 1-2, while Rea was third - one place ah🍸ead of Locatelli - took his third consecutive fourth 🐼place of the weekend.
Chaz Davies and Garrett Gerloff both retired on lap one after Davies crashed into the American. Leandro Mercardo also suffered an earl༺y r🃏ace crash but was able to remount and continue.
Team HRC’s Leon Haslam retired from the race after crashing out at turn two with nine to go.&n🔯bsp;
The start to race two was delayed after Kohta Nozane had a problem on the grid. The Japanese rider was originally moved to the side o𒀰f the track, b🧜efore race officials assisted the GRT Yamaha rider to pit lane.
As riders set off for their second warm-up lap, Lucas Mahias encountered issues on the grid. The French rider was then given a double l꧅ong-lap penalty after returning to the grid late.
Superpole race
Scott Redding takes his third consecutive WorldSBK victory - second from twꦅo at Navarra 🧸during the Superpole race.
Toprak Razgatlioglu made a brilliant start as he gained five spots heading into turn one, while Redding ﷺtook the lead from Jonathan Rea as was the case in race oꦡne.
😼After a chaotic first four laps which saw Redding, Rea and Razgatlioglu all lead, Redding ♈showed his extra pace to pull clear on laps five and six.
Andrea Locatelli secured his second fourth place finish of the weekend after coming out on top in his battle with Alex Lowe🎃s.
Razgatlioglu had no answer for the front two as Rea started to close in on Redding with two laps to go. Rea got within two tenths, but Redding held on for his second win from t𝓡wo.
