The British rider and team-mate Michael van𒀰 der Mark powered Yamaha to a historic fourth straight win at the Suzuka 8 Hours, with Lowes taking his third win in a row, fighting through two wet spells during the race and intensive competition from the #33 Red Bull Honda with Japan Post and the #11 Kawasaki Team Green.

The victory marks the first time the same te🎐aam has clinched four straight wins with Naksuga also taking a f🤡ourth success despite being out of the race with injury.

Lowes reflects on the triumph in his final video diary at th🅷e 2018 event in the team’s toughest challenge to defend its cro🔯wn.

“What can I say three in a row and four in a row for Yamaha!” Lowes said. “It definitely wasn’t a🐼n easy day for me and Michael because unfortunately Nakasuga-san picked up the injury. It was a tough race but Michael did a great job and he had the worst of the conditions so 🍨it wasn’t an easy race for him.

“We managed to race reallﷺy well a⭕nd stuck to our plan. After the second half we had a bit of a gap and managed to stay calm and bring the bike to flag.

“The first two stints in the dry we were strong, probably a bit surprised how strong we were, but it was a great day and a fant🔥astic feeling to win again.”
