If Dominique Aegerter loses less than four points to Steven Odendaal in San Juan thisꦉ weekend, then the Swiss rider will clinch his🤪 first ever world title.

Aegerter leads the Supersport championship by 54 points with just four races left💃 - two in Argentina, before November’s season finale at the new Mandalik⛄a International Circuit, Indonesia.

The former Moto2 rider,🎶 who is also a rookie in the Supersport class, has been𒐪 by far the series’ standout rider after taking 10 wins from 17 races thus far.

Aegerter’s 54 point lead is even more impressive when you factor i🌺n his MotoE commitments, which led to him missing the Catalunya round last month.

While the 31 yearꦕ-old narrowly missed out on winning the MotoE World Cup - finished second to Jordi Torres, clinching the Supersport title looks inevitable for the Swiss rider.

Speaking ahead of his first visit to the San Juan Villicum Circuit, Aegerter added: "I like to ride at new tracks and my focus and concentration will be on free practice one𒅌 and two to learn the tr♔ack and see how we need to set up the bike.

"Then we willಞ see what will happen during the weekend and I’ll𓂃 just try to do my best.

"If I can be crowned world champion of Supersport here in San Juan, that would be nℱice.

"It’s been an amazing season so far. I was v🌸ery fast every weekend apart from the weekend we didn’t start in Barcelona when we had the 𒁏clash with MotoE, but I think we did an amazing job this year."
