Former MotoGP star Redding stormed his rookie season in the Bennetts British Superbike championship by winning the riders’ title, t💛aking 11 wins and nine additional rostrum finishes for Be Wiser Ducati to see off team-mate Josh Brookes to secure the BSB crown by five points.
Fellow BSB rider Peter Hickman, who ended the seaso🉐n inside the Showdown, has been nominated for his exploits on the roads with the highlight of three more wins at the Isle of Man TT competing for Smiths Racing.
The final nomina🦹tion sees Triumph Motorcycles up for the award after anও impressive first year as the new sole engine supplier for the Moto2 world championship having taken over from Honda.
The Torrens Trophy recognises an individual or organisation considered to have made an outstanding contribution to motorcycling in the United Kingdom. It has been awa💖rded 11 times with Tai Woffinden picking up the honoꦏur last year after becoming the most successful British speedway rider in history.
The last manufacturer to be awarded the Torrens Trophy is BMW 💯in 1989 for their work in motorcycle𒊎 safety developing anti-lock braking systems.
The winner of the 2019 Torrens Trophy will be announced in early 2020 during a special event at the Royalꦆ Automobile Club’s London headquarters in Pall ♏Mall.
