Council members have ruled out the possibility of Formula One teams repeating the successful Regent Street parade in the heart of the Welsh c♏apital next𓆏 year.

The𓆏 London-based event preceded this year's British Grand Prix in July, and attracted in the region of 250,000 eager spectators, many of whom clung precariously to signposts and buildings to get a glimpse of the cars, driven by current heroes and past stars such as Nigel Mansell and Martin Brundle.

Although plans for a repeat in Cardiff - designed to coincide with the city's centenary and the 50th anniversary of it becoming capital - remained under wraps ඣfor some time, councillor Nigel Howells has now revealed that no such eve😼nt will take place.

"We tentatively looked at the idea, but it would cost millions of pounds and [would be] very difficult to justify," he told the local South Wales Echo newspaper, "We are concentrating on a number of other events to tie in with th꧂e double anniversary."

Cardiff already plays host to world class motorsport, with the annual Wales Rally GB being based in the city, and the British Speedway ཧGrand Prix taking place in the Millennium Staꦏdium each June.
