2025 will likely be a transitional year for Aston Martin as they wait for Adrian Newey to officially start work later this year♈. Newey will head up their technical team as he begins work on their 2026 challenger.

Aston Martin are eyeing 2026 as th🌠e year they🍰 become a true front-running team, with Newey influencing their car. Honda will also power them as part of a works deal.

It means Aston Martin will quickly turn their attention to next year, rat🅺her than focusing on upgradin𝔉g their 2025 car. This might result in a disappointing campaign for both Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

Aston Martin’s F1 History

Aston Martin entered the sport in 2021, taking over from Racing Point. Jordan GP and Force India are notable entities to have been based at Silverstone, which is growing day by dꦺay as part of an impressive expansion led by billionaire owner Lawrence Stroll.

After a successful 2020, winning the Sakhir Grand Prix, much was expected of As🙈ton Martin, with their first season coincꦛiding with the arrival of Sebastian Vettel. Like Mercedes, Aston Martin were caught out by the changes to the floor area for 2021, significantly compromising their season.

In 2022, the team started the year with the wrong car concept, later introducing a B-spec v🦩ersion. They narrowly missed out on sixth in the constructors’ championship, but it wasn’t enough to keep Vettel, who had already announced his retirement from F1 ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

2023 was their most successful campaign t🐽o date, taking eight podiums in Alonso’s hands. However, Aston Martin tailed off in the second half of the year, putting them behind McLaren in the constructors’ bat♛tle.

It was a si💃milar story in 2024, as Aston Martin started the year well before dropping down the pecking order. Still, they managed to finish P5 in the standings on⭕ce again.
