Frederick tested positive an🦂d will be un🦹able to take part this weekend.

Carlin has already confirmed that it will notꦺ replace Frederick, meaning there will be 29 cars on the grid at Spa, rather than the usual 30.

Frederick’s rookie campaign has been thwa☂rted by a hand fracture𒀰 sustained in Austria.

He was forced to miss the final Austria rac☂e and the entire Hungary weekend, where Frederick was replaced by Jake Dennis.

A statement on the F3 website, said: “The FIA, Formula 3 and 𝔍Carlin can confirm that during mandatory pre-event PCR testing for the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix and its associated support events, the driver Kaylen Frederick tested positive for COVID-19. 

“In accordance with COVID-19 protocols and public health authority guidelines, he will continue to isolate for the required period and therefore not compete during the Belgian Grand Prix weekend. No other members of the Carlin team have 🗹been affected by tಌhis situation.”

Frede𝐆rick added: “I’m absolutely heartbroken. Aside from being painful, the injury in Austria was such a blow as it meant I would miss Hungary. Thinking about ꧅being back for Spa really helped push me through the surgery and physio, all of which was designed to accelerate my recovery.  

“To now have tested positive for COVID-19 is just agonizing. I don’t feel too bad, so I’ll just be sitting at home, but it will be awful to see everyone out in S🥃💧pa without me.”
