F1 veteran Alonso has been ꧅un𓃲able to confirm his long-term future in the sport in each of the 2024 season-opening grands prix in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

But his words are not just psychological warfare to claim the best possi🏅ble contract, Coulthard has warned💦.

Alonso said last weekend in Saudi Arabia: “I enjoy racing, I love racinღg, it doesn’t matter if I am fighting for a win or for a podium or for P12.

“I dedicate myself 1🙈00% for a race and for a team.

“To do a commitment for the futu💎re, I need to make sure that I can gi🎀ve 100% to that team.

“If I’m here, it’s because I want to do well.

Coulthard reacted on Cha🦩nnel 4: “It’s the first time I’ve ever heard h🧔im talk about whether he’s got the drive.

“Having a conveꦺrsation with himself? I’m curious if he does it in fr🥂ont of a mirror or in an empty room!

“But Fernando is very strategic. But that doesn’t sound like he isꦓ sending a message to the paddock.

Alonso, the oldest driver on the 2024 grid at 42, is reportedly on the short-list to replace Lewis Hamꦉilton at Mercedes next year.
