Steve Hislop's mother, Margaret, has issued a statement today thanking people for their support following the tragic accident that c𒉰laimed Hizzy's life at the end of July.

In a letter released by the MonsterMob Ducati's press officer, Larry Carter, the team with whom Steve won the British Superbike champions෴hip last year, Margaret wrote:

"Dear all,

"Myself, George and Ally along with Aaron and Connor would like to extend our most grateful thanks for the n😼umerous cards, flowers, letters and messages of support that we have received since Steve's tඣragic accident.

"We have been truly touched by the great affection in which he was held by friends, fans and fellow competitors alike and this kindness h꧒as been simply overwhelming as indicated by the volume of people that were present at the funeral.

"Not only will be remembered by us as a dear son, loving partner and de🉐dicated father but as an inspiration to thousands who were touched by his presence.

"We will always be so proud of him.

"Thank you to you all,

"Margaret Hislop."

Meanwhile, last weekend at Oulton Park, 🦩where the next two rounds of the 2003 British Superbike Championship took place, a col𒉰lection bucket placed in garage one during the pit lane walkabout on Sunday raised over ?1000 towards the 'Steve Hislop Memorial Fund'.
