Red Piranha Racing rider Simon Andrews cಌontinued his season long run of strong form by finishing fifth in the Donington Park British Supersport Championship finale.

Andrews, who qualified sixth after getting held-up on his flying lap in the second session, was engaged in a thrilling battl💖e for third in the final few laps of the race with Craig Jones, Stuart Easton and Dean Thomas.

"I was a little disappointed with my qualifying position of sixth, but was able to close up on the pack battling for third towards the end of the race," he reflected, "Having secured third place in the championship at Brands Hatch, my priority for the weekend was just to go out and enjoy myself. It's been a fantastic season and to have done so well with the depth of talent in Supersporꦏt is awesome."

After the late switch to Yamaha just prior to the start of the season, team manager Pete Jennings said that Red Piranha Racing had modest expectations but knew the co🐽mbination of Andrews and the R6 had plenty of potential.

"Yamaha came through for us at just the right time and we haven't looked back," he said, "The whole team has put in an enormous amount of effort and it has really paid off. No-one knewꩵ who we were at the start of the season but they all know now!"

Commercial manager Stu🔥art Williams commented that it wouldn't have been possible without the teams many supporters.
