Following Sunday's Spanish MotoGP, riders returned to the Jerez circuit for the first official test si✃nce the start of the season.

Maverick Vi?ales led the way but only just. Marc Marquez was just 0.002s slower. Sunday's race wi𒆙nner Dani Pedrosa was third🌳. Valentino Rossi was just 21st fastest as the factory Yamaha men assessed a new chassis.

One ofꦐ the main tasks for today was to re-evaluate the stiffer front tyre construction, as used at last year's Val🌞encia season-finale.

The construction was made softer after 'ch💮atter' (vibration) problems at other tracks, however the likes of Valentin💝o Rossi, most Honda riders and Andrea Iannone have since suggested the stiffer front would be better.

The stiffer tyre was availabl💝e in medium and hard compounds for each rider.

Round five of🔯 the w𒁃orld championship takes place at Le Mans from May 19-21...
