Six wings for Marquez!

The future of MotoGP wiꦡnglets may be in doubt, but that didn't stop♋ Honda's Marc Marquez debuting a new multi-wing combination during testing at Jerez on Monday.

The Grand Prix Commission is currently waiting to vote on 🦋a proposal from the MSMA (manufacturers' association) regarding the aerodynamic devices, which are designedꦯ to reduce wheelies but have raised concerns over safety and spiralling costs.

Honda may have been relatively late to the winglet party - after Ducati and Yamaha - but HRC has rolled out several designs in quick succession since the f🦩irst modest wing appeared on the RCV at the Qatar test.

While previousℱ versions were similar to those used by Ducati and Yamaha, Jerez saw HRC break new winglet ground by stacking three winglets 🅠on either side of the front fairing.

Completing the podium behind Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo in Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix, world championship leader Marquez set the fastest time on Monday courtesy of a 1m 39.313s during a massive 91 laps 🅰of the Spanish track.

"Today we tried many things. We did many laps, from the morning until t🍨he last hour," Marquez said. "I'm happy with the feeling. We tried different wings and it looks like it is working in a different way. They have some potential. No🌸w they start and will never stop.

"In the future we must do something but, OK, at the moment we can do it and we are working on the aerodynam🦂ics to try and improve. We also tested three different front tyres today, but the on🌳e that we used this weekend was working well too."

Team-mate Dani Pedrosa did not tes♉t the new wing conf🥀iguration.

Marquez heads to round four, at Le Mans, holding a 17-point lead over Yamaha's Jorge๊ Lorenzo.
