F1 teams will be permitted to choose which tyre compounds th𒁏ey wish to use in the 2016 F1 season in an attempt to offer up more variety to shake up the competi♉tion.

As it stands, Pirelli opts for the two dry weather compounds that are ไto be used during an F1 weekend and race - super soft, soft, medium and hard -, with the variation generally matching the demands of the circuit in question.

However, after criticism that the current format isn't daring enough, the Strategy Group has opted to launch a proposal to🍌 open up the rules that will allow teams to choose which two tyre compounds from the four ಞthey want to use.

"Free choice of the two dry tyre co𒁃mpounds (out of four) that each team can use during the rac🐈e weekend," the proposal read.

This will be enforced for the 2016 season, though it is understood to not be the preferred choice of Pirelli, who feels it may see some teams tak🅠ing too much of a risk at certain venues.

The proposal will still need to be approved by the F1 Commis🐓sion to be introduced.
