Daniel Ricciardo confirmed that a su൲spension failure was to blame for his retireme💎nt from the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Run𝓀ning behind Fernando Alonso's Ferrari, Ricciardo ran wide at Turn 1 and slowed in the first sector, radioing in to Red Bull that he had an issue with the car. Replays showed one of the left front suspension components movinℱg under braking, and Ricciardo confirmed that checks in the pits revealed a failure which ended his race.

"When ꦯI went into Turn One, the car went to the right and I knew there was a problem," Ricciardo said. "I came into the pits and the team told me it was suspen🌱sion failure and we retired.

"It had been a bit of a boring race, we were close to everyone but not close enough to have many fights; I would have liked to have had a bit more fun, but it didn't really happen. It's a shame, but I had a pretty good run until now, so I can't be too greedy. It would be good to finis🅘h on the podium at theไ final race of the season."

Team principal Christian Horner said Red Bull would l꧑ook in to the failure to ensure there is no repeat of the problem in Abu Dhabi.

"With Daniel, unfortunately we had a front suspension issue," Horner said. "He thought it might be a𓄧 front brake, but in the end it turned out to be the front suspension that had failed so we need to investigate what happened."
