The ongoing saga of the post-race penalty imposed 🔜on Marc Marquez for his collision with tit꧑le rival Pol Espargaro in the closing stages of Sunday's Catalunya Moto2 race has taken yet another twist.

An investigation into the collision, which occurred when Marquez cut back onto the racing line after running wide in a near fall, was announced soon after the incident. Marquez was able to con🤡tinue following the contact, but Espargaro suffered a heavy fall (pictured).

When Marquez duly took his place on the podium and🍎 official results were published it seemed no action would be takeꦬn.

But Rꦰace Direction then imposed a one-minute penalty on the Spanish teenager 🦋for an 'infringement to article 1.21.2', which states: "Riders must ride in a responsible manner which does not cause danger to other competitors or participants."

Th🅘is dropped Mar🦂quez to 23rd on the revised results.

Unusually, that decision was then overturne𓂃d by the FIM Stewards and Marquez was thus r💦einstated in third and yet another version of the final results published.

And it seems the subject is not yet closed, with the official MotoGP Twitter account reporting on Monday evening: "Espargaro's Pons 40 🍒HP Tuenti team placed an appeal against the FIM stewards decision to cancel Marquezꦜ penalty for the Catalunya GP."
