Special Tuning Racing sets its sights firmly on British Touring Car Championship Independents' title glory in 2011 after acquiring a fourth SEAT Leon S2000 - what team principal John Boardman predicts will be 'a very competitive package'

SEAT Cupra Cup UK and Spanish Supercopa SEAT Leon championship-winning outfit Special Tuning Racing will be able to field up to four cars in the 2011 💦Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), after acquiring another SEAT L𝕴eon S2000 chassis.

Special Tuning Racing success༺fully ran the SEAT Leon of Tom Boardman in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) in 2009 and the BTCC last year, achieving five top six overall finishes in the latter. The team is now preparing all of its chassis' ready to accept the new turbocharged NGTC engine as well as planning an intensive pre-season testing sche🧸dule in both the UK and Spain - with one clear goal.

"This new Leon chassis was previous🍸ly raced very successfully by Adam Jones and is the latest-specification Leon S2000," revealed team principal John Boardman. "Due to the high level of interest in our 2011 BTCC programme, using th♓e Leon and our new SEAT TFSI NGTC 2.0-litre turbocharged engine combination, we felt it necessary to obtain this additional chassis as we believe this is going to be a very competitive package. This now gives Special Tuning Racing the capability of running up to four cars.

"We are taking the 2011 season very seriously. The t🥀eam firmly has its sights set on winning the Independents' title this year, and with the highly-experienced engineering team we have behind us combined with the Leon chassis and NGTC engine, we think this is a very achievable target.

"We have already secured a deal with a driver for one of the four seats 🀅available, and we are talking to several other d✱rivers for the remaining seats."
