Vic Elford to appear at Cornbury Park Rally Show

Former sports car, rally and F1 driver Vic Elford is the first star nam๊e to commit to appearing at the first Rally Show to be held at Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, on May 14-15 2011, it has been confirmed.

Now living in the USA, 'Quick Vic', 💝as he was nicknamed, has a very impressive motorsport CV. Having started ♛out as a co-driver, a move across to the driving seat in 1961 saw the beginning of a legendary career which was to last for over 20 years.

His first w♎orks drives were for Triumph, then Ford, with whom he distinguished himself on the Alpine Rally by winning the Touring category in 1964.

But he moved to Porsche at the end of 1966. Elford was Europe🐭an Rally Champion in 1967, finishing third on the Monte Carlo and winning the Tulip, Lyons-Charbonnieres and Geneva rallies꧅ outright.

The following year - in the space of a ඣsingle week - he won the Monte Carlo Rally in a Porsche 911 and ♒the Daytona 24-Hour Race in a Porsche 907.

That year, he also won the Targa Florio - after losing 18 minutes when a wheel came off - and also started his first Grand Prix, in France, finishing fourth overall. Over the next few seasons♕ he drove for the Cooper, McLaren and BRM.

Meanwhile, i𒁃n a separate devel♋opment, organisers added that regulations for the competitive events at the Rally Show will be published on its official website on December 15.
