Brookes escapes serious injury in test crash

British Superbike Championship leader Josh Brookes is confident he will be fit in time for the seventh round ofಌ the season at Snetterto🎃n despite a crash during testing.

The Australian was launched into a high-side from the HM Plant Honda during an outing at D🧸arley Moor as the team worked on a new engine specification it intends to use for its World 𓂃Superbike wild-card at Silverstone.

Admitting to 'hurting all over', Brookes was taken for x-rays but has been told he hasn't broken anything and is now turning his attention to getting on the pace at the upcoming Snette🐼rton triple-header.

"I just had a big high-side and fle༺w quite high in the air and came down quite heavily on the base of my back in almost a seated position and then I got slapped around a bit," he told the BSB website.

"To start with we thought I might have broken something, but since then I have had some x-rays and it is not showing any breaks. The hand is starting to feel better and I can squeeze it again now, which I couldn'🐷t do initiallyဣ so that is a good sign.

"When I took the boot off to start with I had some real sharp pain in my foot but the x-rays show nothing is broken so maybe I just need🍨 to man up a bit! I just hurt all over right now and feel pretty rubbish but you have to expect that when you crash🍸 at that speed."
