On the day it was crowned as World Superbike manufacturers' champions, Ducati Xerox has yet more reason to celebrate after Xavier Simeon wrapped 🎃up the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup.
Following in the footsteps of Niccolo Canep🐻a and Brendan Roberts, champions for Ducati Xerox in 2007 and 2008, Simeon wrapped up the title one round early after finishing second to Ma💜xime Berger at Magny-Cours.
Giving him an insurmountable lead over Suzuki's Clauio Corti with only the Portuguese round of the championship remaining, the Belgian was thrilled with his title victory having 🀅just lost out to Roberts in 2008.
"It's a very emotional mওoment for me, a fantastic day at the end🌱 of a fairy-tale weekend. My 1198 was just perfect and I kept the situation under control even though Berger was tough competition.
"On the last but one lap I lost the front on the downhill and risked falling; at that point I thought about the title and realized that second place 🌠was good enough. Thanks to Ducati, to the team and to my family as it's thanks to them that I can today celebrate being champion."
