Camier celebrates BSB title
A 17th win of the season during the first race of the day at Silverstone was all Leon Camier needed to wrap up the 2009 MCE British Sup🌳erbike Championship with fou༺r races of the season remaining.
While the title win✤ was considered something of an inevitability following a season in which Camier has stood on top of the podium a record number of times, he was still made to work hard for it in both races.
Dicing for the lead with Airwaves Yamaha team-mate James Ellison throughout race one, Camier needed t🦂o finish ahead of his rꦫival in order to wrap up the title.

Several failed attempts ensued before Camier eventually passed Elli𓄧son on the penultimate lap, the 22-year-old cruising home to officially put the title out of reach for anyone els♋e.
An appropriate wayꦕ for Camier to underline his sheer dominance in 2꧒009, he was thrilled to finally be able to call himself champion.
"It's a dream come true to become British Superbike Champion. Iꦕ have to thank everyone who has helped me get here. The first race was one of the hardest of the season for me. I was pushing so hard and there were some places where I was a bit out of control.
"I kept trying to make passes, but they weren't working out. Thankfully it all turned out ok in the ♏end, it's an unbe🦋lievable feeling to know I've finally done it!"
Camier finished second in race two after an error early on prompted🍷 fight back🐻 through the pack.
Three races remain this year with Oulton Park hosting t🦋he season finale triple-header in October.
