With engine issues continuing to plague his season, Liam McMillan has elected to withdraw from his home round of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship cam꧅paign at Snetterton.

The teenager has already had to sit out the events at Oulton Park and Croft prior to the summer break, but had hoped to make his return i🥂n Norfolk at the wheel of his SEAT Toledo.

However, with his more powered 16 valve engine still not fully rebuilt, McMillan has taken the decision t🀅o sit out Snetterton rather than race with the less powerful 20 valve motor but aims to take part in at least one more race weekend before the end of the season.

"Missing the BTCC raceꦑ weekend at Snetterton was a difficult decision to make, but we haven't let our hearts rule our head🐼s and it's definitely the correct thing to do," McMillan said. "I know we can't win with the equipment we have, but we want to put on a good show and do our best.

"With a 16 valve engine we could challenge for a top ten result - but that engine isn't fully rebuilt and we need to test it before we race it again. With our 20 value engine, which was our only option for Snetterton, we'd b🐈e confined to the back of the field, and that isn't good for my career. I never want to be on track, just to ﷽make up the numbers.

"I'm hoping we'll be able to test the 16 value eng♕ine soon and then we'll make a decision♛ as to which circuits will suit the Toledo the best and go from there."
