Brookes receives two race ban

Josh Brookes has been banned f🐲or the next two ViSK.com British Superbike rounds after being found guilty of reckless riding at Mallory Park.

Brookes was the cause of a six bike pile-up on lap 23 of the opening race after he lost control of hi🐷s HM Plant Honda under braking at the hairpin, robbing Simon Andrews of a possible first BSB win.

Following a review of the television coverage, statements from marshals, an inspection of the machine and an interview with Brookes, who broke his thumb in the accident, it was ruled that Brookes was not riding in a manner compatible with ge🗹neral safety.

As such, a two event ban has been appliedꦕ with a further one event ban that will be suspended for two events.

The HM Plan෴t Ho൲nda team will not appeal the decision.

"I set myself up for the move but the back wheel came up in the air under braking and I couldn't hold it," Brookes said after the accident. "I just pushed too hard an🅰d made a mistake and I am disappointed for the guys that were involved as they deserved to be on the podium.. I was trying to get to the front and just pushed too hard."

Earlier this year, Brookes was riding under a suspende🦩d two race ban after being involved in a collision that saw Sylvain Guintoli break his leg at Donington Park.
